Minneapolis to LA

Our good friends Pete (Sienna's Godfather), Danielle and their 3 month old daughter Charlotte, visited us from Minneapolis over the holiday weekend. Although the weather was cold and cloudy for most of their trip, we had a wonderful time hanging out on the patio bar, a little surfing, yoga, walking on the beach and the deep belly laughs. Sienna had a great time waving and say hi to Charlotte especially while she was next to her in the backseat of the car. We look forward to seeing them at Alex and Veronica's wedding in June.

My First Baby Pool

The temperature on Sunday was a record breaking high of 100 degrees so we decided to play in the kiddie pool on our patio. Sienna loved splashing around and playing with her toys......she especially liked throwing them outside of the pool to have mama put them back in. This was a great way to enjoy the warm weather and cool off. Cali even enjoyed getting in the pool with Sienna but wouldn't lay down since the water was a bit cool. It was quite funny to watch:)

Day at the Beach

Sienna and I spent the afternoon at Zuma Beach. It was about 80 degrees and beautiful. This was the first time Sienna played with her new sand toys that she got from her birthday. She loved playing with her toys and climbing in and out of the beach chair. We had such a great time!!

Birthday Girl

Sienna spent her birthday morning opening presents and attempting another piece of cake with Mama and Dada. She only tasted a little bit of the icing and preferred a bagel with cream cheese and her favorite blueberries. Kendyl, Logan, Oliver, Ryder, Audrey, Lukas and Eric came over in the afternoon to celebrate Sienna's 1st birthday. We had some cupcakes and chocolate chip cookies before spending the afternoon at the toddler park nearby. Sienna loves being outside, especially playing at the park with her friends.

My First Steps

Sienna took her first steps the day before her 1st birthday from the coffee table to Mama. She continued to do it over and over again which allowed us to get some cute videos. She took about 5 steps before falling down so it is just a matter of time before she is running all over the place. We couldn't believe that we were watching her walk without holding on to anything. It was so amazing to see her facial expressions as she attempted each step.

Sienna's First Birthday Party

Sienna's 1st brithday party was at our house on Saturday, May 3. The butterfly cake was my first homemade cake. Although it took the whole friday to make, it went well with the butterfly and flower theme. Sienna's birthday guests said it tasted really good too! She had seven of her friends over to help celebrate (Kendyl, Logan, Oliver, Aleesa, Aiden, Pierce & Zoe) and mom & dad had many of their friends too! Sienna had fun pulling on the strings of her butterfly pinata, which required the help of her friends and mom to find the right string to get the candy. She liked watching everyone sing happy birthday to her but was not at all interested in eating the cake. She tasted a little bit of icing but spit out the cake and kept pushing it away from her. She will like it sooner or later so I guess we don't need to force her into liking sweets. Sienna sat on Mama's lap to help open her gifts, which consisted of fun toys and many cute clothes/dresses. Thanks to everyone for helping us celebarate her 1st birthday. We can't believe she is already one year old and becoming such a big girl:)
